Adriana Neagu

Associate Professor at the Department of AML, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca.

Her teaching and research areas are diverse, combining applied linguistics and cultural studies disciplines. Her main specialism is in translation theory and practice, English for Academic Purposes (particularly Rhetoric and the Theory and Practice of Argumentation), literary translation and comparative cultural studies.

At present her research centres on the nation-translation nexus and the new paradigms of cultural identity in the U.K. She is also at work on a transdisciplinary project on language impairment in degenerative neuronal diseases.

Since 1999, Dr Neagu has been Advisory Editor and, since 2004, Editor-in-Chief of American, British and Canadian Studies, the journal of the Academic Anglophone Society of Romania.
