Ana Madeira

Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, UNL, since 2002, where she teaches courses in the areas of syntax and second language acquisition.

She received a PhD in Linguistics from University College London in 1995. She currently coordinates the project “Morphology and Syntax in L2 Acquisition” (POCI/LIN/62214/2004), in the context of which she has conducted research into the acquisition of Portuguese as a second / foreign language.

She has also participated in the following projects: “Oneness: Online less used and less taught language courses” (SOCRATES 110745-CP-1-2003-1-LT-LINGUA-L2), coordinated by Vilnius University, 2003-2006; “Policies and practices in the teaching of Portuguese abroad: the Portuguese leitorados" (Programa Lusitânia - PLUS/SOC/50310), 2004-2006.
